Saturday Plein Air in Helen 6/4-

Spent all Saturday in Helen— biker capital of GA. Actually there is plenty to see and do w/owo the bikers. A old college roommate stopped by recently on the search for some holy grail ride around here. Good to hear from Doug...after about 35 years. Yikes!
There is a new park just before you enter town in Sautee. I always thought that this building was the old Hardman mansion—what ever the history, it's a beautiful old building.
I chose a much eaiser subject. The house is up a hill from the old Sautee RR station. A southern charmer with not much deco— almost Quaker. It's recently been restored to about 1920's vintage. Nice job from what I can see. Anyway, this painting came out looking like it was as hot as of course it was, at 90+ all day. Lucky for me, I set up in the shade of the station and did this in 4 hours. That's too long but still it's the best of my efforts last week.

Join me at Mountain Park Lake Sat 4-8 I will be hocking art work.
